crossed lines of brain and body

This girl looks a lot better than I did today. I walked into the gym, picked out my treadmill and stepped on like I do every day. I started it up, pumping it up to the speed I start out with, which is a brisk walk. After a minute or two I realized that the very annoying whine coming from my machine is not something that will eventually subside, and if I have to listen to it for the next 20 minutes I might go insane. So, I hit the STOP button and turn to get off. Well, how quickly my brain told me the belt was stopping apparently was not in sync with how quickly it was ACTUALLY stopping. Thankfully, this incident wasn't as bad as it could have been. I turned around and ended up doing a couple quick back-steps before finding myself in the crab-walk position, each foot and each hand spread out on the non-moving parts of the treadmill. I jumped up, smiled sheepishly at the guy on the next machine who's neck appeared to snap in my direction with my sudden movement downward, and hopped onto the next one and on with my workout. Nothing was hurt, although my pride took a healthy singe.

i love my funny guy!

One of the many things about my husband is simply this: he makes me laugh. Granted, I realize that I am one that is easily amused, however, he really is funny! I know, I'm not partial at all. It really is a great thing to be so happy and content with a person. To be with one that you consider your soul mate. There really is nothing like it!

my body hates me

but it will thank me one day. I have gotten out of the habit of going to the Y. I had health issues, but since I've gotten better I just haven't gotten back into it...until yesterday. Today was my second day back. Yes, I'm exhausted. No, the picture isn't messed up, I really am still that red. Even though it's been a good hour since the end of my workout. Back to work...

please pray for my brother

My brother, Daniel, is having some health issues. It all actually started over a year ago when he noticed he was losing some of his vision. After going through a gamut of tests and being on blood thinner meds for a while, it was determined that he must have had a stroke in his eye. The doctors didn't seem to know why, and he hadn't lost anymore eyesight, so he was finally down to just taking an aspirin a day. A few days ago he noticed more vision loss. He went to the hospital where tests were again executed. This time they found the dissection has grown and reaches up toward his brain. They are doing a CT scan to see how far up it goes, then they will do surgery and I think put a stent in his coratid artery....Daniel, if I'm messing any of this up please feel free to correct me....Right now they are waiting for the CT scan. Please just pray that this will be able to be fixed w/o any more problems and for Daniel and his family as they go through this experience.

Josh and I took a walk on the pedestrian bridge and took a few shots for our Christmas cards. I can't decide which one to use.

senior moment

This is a true account as recorded in the Police Log of Sarasota, Florida...

"An elderly Florida lady did her shopping and, upon returning to her
car, found four males in the act of leaving with her vehicle. She
dropped her shopping bags and drew her handgun, proceeding to scream
at the top of her voice, "I have a gun, and I know how to use it! Get
out of the car!"

The four men didn't wait for a second invitation. They got out and ran
like mad. The lady, somewhat shaken, then proceeded to load her
shopping bags into the back of the car and got into the driver's seat.
She was so shaken that she could not get her key into the ignition.
She tried and tried, and then it dawned on her why... For the same
reason she did not understand why there was a football, a Frisbee and
two 12 packs of beer in the front seat! A few minutes later, she found
her own car parked four or five spaces farther down. She loaded her
bags into the car and drove to the police station to report her
mistake.

The sergeant to whom she told the story couldn't stop laughing. He
pointed to the other end of the counter, where four pale men were
reporting a car jacking by a mad, elderly woman described as white,
less than five feet tall, glasses, curly white hair, and carrying a
large handgun.

No charges were filed.

If you're going to have a Senior Moment, make it a memorable one!

mom would be proud

One of my favorite memories as a child is the yummy smell of homemade bread! My mom kicks some serious batootie when it comes to making bread from scratch. I've tried a couple times to duplicate it, and although I do have the recipe, it just doesn't have that "mom touch". Oh, it still tastes divine, but somehow my loaves always come out all mis-shaped and cracked. Oh well, as long as it tastes good, and Josh loves it, so I guess that's all that matters! I won't be entering any bread making contests anytime soon anyway.....

Tips from Mom:

Kneed the bread until you think your hands will fall off, then kneed for about five minutes longer.

Whack and punch the bread, taking all your pent-up aggression out on it, again, til you think your hands will fall off.

Cover and let rise...

Yummy!!!!!

Husband approved!

oh, i feel nauseous, give me sausage!

What normal person craves sausage when they are sick? Apparantly my husband does. But, I guess that doesn't really answer my question, does it? =) Love ya, babe.
