furniture face lift

I have had this furniture for two and a half years.  When our landlord at the time asked if we wanted it (for free, mind you) I jumped at the chance.  I could tell they were nice pieces, even under the unsightly blue paint and ugly sponge technique.  I knew I wanted to paint them eventually.  Well, eventually has turned into two and a half years.  In that time we've been using them in our daughter's room just the way they are.  Now two and a half years later when I am ready to do them, they have actually become our son's furniture.  So anyway, this is my fancy shmancy before and after blog post.  His room is sports themed, so keep that in mind too.  I will have to update the post at a later date with a shot of the furniture actually set up in his room...

july 4th wreath

We have lived in our new place for two months.  I'm finally getting pictures up on the walls and such, but I was really happy to find my patriotic wreath just in time to hang for the 4th!  This was the first wreath I've made and I was very happy with how it turned out.  Here's the post from when I made it last year.

father's day idea...a little late

I had found this idea on Pinterest, where you ask your child questions about Daddy and write down their answers.  Unfortunately whoever pinned this on Pinterest took it from a Google image so I have no idea who the original source is.  This was the original and then I typed it up neater to give on Father's Day.  I want to try to remember to do this every year and then keep them all in a little book.  It will be fun to see how her answers will change each year.
