Baby Baby Baby!

I didn't believe the nurse when she confirmed that yes, I was pregnant! In fact, I asked her three times if she was for real, then I couldn't stop crying. Finally!! God is faithful! Josh and I are so excited to be parents! I have been feeling sick for a good month. I thought it was my medicine, b/c it usually makes me sick for a couple weeks when I start taking it. But, since I had been feeling like this for a while, I decided maybe I should go to my family doctor and see what was up. I made the appointment, then I thought, I better take a pregnancy test, b/c I know the doctor is going to ask if I did that, so I might as well rule it out. After two years of disappointment, I had started doing everything I could to protect myself from that pain, so I just kept telling myself that there was no way I was pregnant, it just wasn't possible. I took 3 tests, and all were very faintly positive. I still didn't let myself believe that I could be pregnant. However I did cancel the appointment and made a new appointment with my "baby doctor". The doctor did a sonogram and said that everything looks perfect. I am 8 weeks, and he estimated my due date to be around April 6th. I am so full of joy and just ecstatic that this is happening! I want to thank everyone that has been praying for me (don't stop now!) b/c your encouragement and your prayers have really been a light during this time. Josh is so cute. He likes to pat my belly and tell me that he loves both of us. =) I just know he's going to be an awesome daddy! Oh, and the shirt I have on in the picture is one that he bought for me to wear while visiting family, to see if they would catch on. They didn't until I put the sonogram picture in the middle of the table, but oh well! =) We have had so much fun telling our family and friends the good news. Everyone is just so happy for us and there are usually a lot of happy tears that fall. I'm off to veg on the couch now b/c I am SO tired!!! =)

update

This is going to be a boring post. Just throwing that out there. No pictures, just an update. Quite a bit has happened in the last few weeks. Since I don't have much time on my break, I think I'll make this a bullet update....

*Josh and I adopted a dog, old news if you follow my blog.

*I got laid off at my job.

*I finished a HUGE project I've been working on for months. I can't reveal it yet, but will in a couple weeks.

*Lots of family issues going on Josh's side of the family. When people you love hurt, you hurt too, and pray all the harder.

*Got re-hired at LifeWay, different department, different position.

*Unintentionally went on a 10 day hiatus from my medicine, so now my body needs to get used to it again which means I'm sick ALL the time.

*Going on a VERY quick trip to Maryland this weekend - Wye Bible's 25th Anniversary Celebration.

*Josh suffered a bout of insomnia, had to go to the doctor and get sleeping pills. So far they are working like a charm.

*My workouts have suffered due to the interruption of my routine and sickness. I have plans to get into the swing of things again on Monday.

*And, last but not least, I think I've decided that all the mosquitos in the entire world reside in Tennessee, specifically in my backyard, and I think it's time for them to go. Amen.

cuteness

Fair warning: You might get sick of posts about my new little doggie. She's like my baby now so be prepared to see pictures, videos, and retellings of the cute things she does, and, maybe even the not so cute. But really, you can't possibly look at this face and have at least a little part of your heart melt!

This is Butter's stuffed bunny. She loves to chew on it and carry it around with her. When she came here a week ago, the bunny still had most of his appendages intact. It was just missing a leg.

This is the bunny now. I think she might need a new one soon.

Butter wakes me up promptly at 5:30 every morning. Our new routine is to take her out to the bathroom, then take her for a 10 minute walk. Well, BB, or Before Butter, Saturday was always my sleep in day. The day that I can sleep in a glorious 2 hours later than normal. So, deciding that things should be no different just because we have a dog now, I got up at 5:30, took her out to the bathroom, then put her in the upstairs bedroom that we've sort of dubbed "Butter's Room" during the day when we have to leave her alone. I thought, just two more hours of sleep, then I'll take her out. Those two extra hours of sleep were wonderful. The state of the bedroom at the end of those two hours, however, was not. Let's just say, I'm glad we're getting new carpet anyway, glad Butter seems to be healthy and her bodily functions working properly, and glad she tired of gnawing on wood after two small corners. I've learned my lesson. As wonderful as those extra hours were, I will gladly give them up to keep Butter good and exercised! This is her after our long walk tonight!

butter's tricks

We are trying to teach Butter various commands. She already knew "sit" when she came to live with us. Since we got her, one week ago today, she has also learned "lay" and "roll over". Check it out! =)
