for the birds

This is Daisy's bird. He's a real hit with her. He whistles when you squeeze him, and it's awesome because I think he actually sounds like a real bird. I think that every time Daisy and I are out on one of our walks and we hear the birds chirping in the trees. Then I think, I wonder if Daisy thinks the trees are full of stuffed birds with mommies who are squeezing them to make them sing. Then I think, I think too much.

stomach muscles and giggles

Yesterday Daisy helped me go through my clothes. She was a huge help. I tried some on and she helped me decide which ones could stay and which ones had to go. I couldn't have done it without her.

Apparently Daisy wanted to work on her abs yesterday as well. I sat her up on the couch and she kept lifting herself up and bending over, grunting all the while. I tried putting her back in a sitting position and she just kept bending forward. So cute. If the picture doesn't quite do it for ya, here's a video:

I am forever making up little songs for Daisy. She loves it when I act goofy and crazy. She's been giggling for a few weeks now, but today I finally captured a small part of it on camera. She gets completely fascinated with the camera and so sometimes it can be hard to get her smiles....

playing dress-up

So this is the third outfit of the day. Between spit-ups and "down there" explosions, we've been having fun playing dress-up today.

argh

I refuse to get it re-sized...yet....only 20 pounds to go to be at pre-baby weight...then only 40 more pounds to go to be where I need to be..hah! =)

2 months old!

My baby is 2 months old! Time is flying and I have a feeling it will only be picking up speed as she grows. She is now 12 lbs, 10 oz, and 24 1/4 inches long! She coos, smiles, laughs (occasionally), plays with her hair, tells us stories, loves the "how big is Daisy?" game, and just generally brings us joy anytime we set eyes on her. She loves her sleep, and she loves to stretch! You can watch a video of her trying her darndest to wake up, here. She still eats every three hours, give or take an hour or so. She sleeps about six hours a night pretty consistently. She is getting so strong and holds her head up like a pro. Here's a video of her being my little bobble-head:

We are finding that she loves her swing! It calms her down almost every time if she is fussy. Unless she is hungry, then nothing calms her down except chowin' down!

We had her to the doctor today for her 2 month check-up...and shots! Ugh. Not my favorite part! When the first needle went in she first looked confused, then her eyes went real wide, then she let us have it! She cried so loud. The nurse was very quick, though, and once I was able to pick her up she settled down pretty quickly. I had to dry my eyes before we left the room, however. =)

This month has been one of a few firsts for little miss Daisy:

First time in the big girl part of the stroller.

First time in the car seat without the head support.

She found her hair and now when she's sleeping her little fist can usually be found balled up in it.

First time at a carnival. We were driving by the mall and saw they had a small carnival set up in the parking lot. So of course we just had to break out the stroller and walk her through. She had this expression the whole time, and promptly fell asleep within minutes. I think she loved it. =)

Here's to many more firsts in month 3!
