The time is here, the time is now. Well, the time is actually in a day or two but "now" sounded better literately speaking. Do you ever make up a word, then look it up to find that it actually is a word? That's what happened with "literately" just now. Anyhoo, what was I talking about? Oh yes. I am finally going to try my first cake pops! JP and I loaded up the little people in the car tonight after dinner and made a really quick trip to Michaels so I could use a couple 50% coupons to get the rest of what I need for the project. I would like to interject here that I love, love, LOVE Michaels! It's my favorite store E.V.E.R. But I digress. I would also like to interject that I love using that phrase, "but I digress"...okay I'm done now. Promise. So what have I chosen for my first pops, you say? Well let me tell you. I know Valentine's Day is technically over, but JP's sisters and parents are coming into town at the end of the week, so I thought I would drag out the holiday and go with the love theme. THIS is what I will be attempting...
I picked this one because they are cute, yet seem like they are easy enough to pull off on the first try. We shall see if I am right!
we made these at Christmastime (well, obviously not Valentine's Day ones but you know what I mean...!). We made some of the cake balls too big so they would slide down the skewer before they harden. I was really the only one who liked eating them. Boohoo, I know. :) Brian thought they were too sweet. The kids liked them.....just messy.
ReplyDeleteThese are cute, though. Hope they turn out! Glad you're blogging again. :) Love to you and yours.
Yay! Can't wait to see how they turn out! I realized that they do much better at staying on the sticks when they are cold. After some trial and error, I ended up only taking 6-7 out of the refrigerator at a time. If they got too warm, they'd slid off or break before they hardened up.
ReplyDeleteRenee if I had been there I totally would have indulged with you! Michaella, thanks for the tip! I'll be sure to post on here my results...even if they fail! =)
