birthday

I am truly blessed to have such great, awesome, and fun co-workers! We went to Chuck E Cheese for my birthday lunch...and had a blast!

I don't think I have any "normal" pictures of these folks. But then, what would be the fun in that?

Then of course, it was time to get serious for game time.

Cliff was victorious!

Josh and I have recently gone on a pretty strict budget, and in so doing we've been forced to get a little creative with our free time. The Canady parents have given us a tent for our birthdays (yes, we have the same birthday, though I am three years older), and so we decided we would not let cold weather or a strict budget prevent us from trying it out!

Makin some s'mores:
The floor was a little hard, but it was fun! =)

wow

I just happened to have my camera with me at work this day. The picture doesn't really do it justice, but this is the view from my office window.

And these I took on the way home (don't worry, Josh was driving):

I'm thinking, the golden arches can't really hold a candle to these colors! I liked the contrast, though.

just because

I absolutely hate arguing with my husband. Unfortunately, we are imperfect beings living in an imperfect world, and anytime you put two personalities together for an extended period of time, there's bound to be some friction at some point. While I hate when it happens, I like when it ends this way:

I don't even remember what the argument was over, but I wish I would have had a camera in my hand when I opened the door for him (he had gone to get a few groceries), and he was standing there bogged down with grocery bags and flowers. Somehow any hard feelings that were there just melted away. Weird how that happens.

canady christmas, 2007

Backtracking a bit since I'm behind. These pictures were taken over Christmas vacation. Josh and I flew to Maryland to be with the Canady family. Josh could only stay the weekend through Christmas Day since he didn't have any vacation days to take off yet, but I had the opportunity to stay the week. It was great to be able to spend some extra time with them! I love the way Gracie is looking at Josh in these...

I like this picture of us...I don't know why, I just do.

Josh has started a tradition since we've been married of giving me new pajamas on Christmas Eve. This year he said he went with the ones that made him laugh. Don't know if you can tell, but they're covered with sock monkeys doing various chores. It's pretty funny...

Zeke in his new Spongebob pjs Christmas morning..(seriously this was around 7:30ish am. The Canadys don't mess around!

This is the best picture I got of Eden's Spongebob pjs. I have always loved Christmas, but kids make it even more fun!

Zeke was so fun to watch that morning. He got his own Gibson guitar. To see a video of him trying it out, click here. It's so cute! Josh even enjoyed trying it out.

These are the fleece blankets I made for the Haneman kids (Josh's oldest sister Jenny's kids):

I think it's obvious why I had to post this picture:
This baby brings many smiles everywhere she goes! This is Gracie; she's Josh's youngest older sister, Missy's baby. If you think this picture is cute, check this out.

help yourself

So I have been slacking big time on blogging. So sorry. I guess the biggest story at this point in our lives is that we now have our car back, safe and sound, in our possession. If you keep up with Josh's blog, then you already heard the story, but in case you haven't, his car was "stolen" from our apartment a little over a month ago. Last week as we were going through the process of getting compensated from our insurance company, we came to find out that it had been illegally towed. The tags were expired, so yes, had they gone through the proper procedures they could have taken it away all legal-like. However, the towing company failed to go through the proper motions. They didn't have any of the signed papers they're supposed to get when towing a car, and they failed to notify the proper people and all that. On top of it all our apartment complex were the ones that reported the expired tags, but didn't bother to tell us where our car went. We had reported it stolen to the police. Since the towing company didn't notify the state they towed the car, the police didn't know it was towed either, so here we sat for a month waiting for them as they looked for our stolen car. We found out, not through our apartment complex, but through our insurance company that it was the apartment manager that had it towed. When confronted he denied not going through proper procedure. They had fraudulent paperwork stating they warned us by tagging our car that it would be towed if we didn't renew the tags. He couldn't seem to understand why we reported it stolen to the police when our car just wasn't there one day. So, we're not best friends. Kudos to my husband for sticking to his guns and not giving up when they threatened to charge us $300, then $700 for getting the car back. Long story short, there were some auto theft detectives involved and they made things happen so we got our car back for the $65 towing fee only, and our insurance will cover that. Now we get to go through the fun of emissions and registering and all that mess. Whoopie!!!

white stuff

I can't believe it! It snowed in Nashville last night! As I was stepping outside to go to the grocery store, I opened my door to falling snow! I had to look at it a few seconds to realize it really was snow falling from the sky! Granted, it was gone by the time I got back from the store, but it did snow.
