i think i can, i think i can

The hubster says I'm addicted. I say I'm just struggling to understand it all and save our family the much needed money! The past couple days I have been living, eating, sleeping, breathing.....coupons. Over the past year I've observed many of my friends one by one discover the beauty that is couponing. When they all started bragging about their savings I decided it's high time I follow suit. There are just some bandwagons that need jumped onto. And there are just some sentences that need to end in a preposition....and also some sentences that need to start with a conjunction. Anyway, there's really no saving this post, I don't think. So....coupons! My first shopping trip was a success to CVS. I left with 50% savings! Tonight was my first BIG grocery shopping trip and wow....my brain is fried. It will help a lot when I am actually a bit organized. The trip was definitely a success. I left saving almost a hundred dollars. Not as good as Krista's (the hubster's cousin) $325 worth of groceries for $5, but I'm not bitter or anything. ;) Actually, Krista has been such a huge help as I have inundated her phone with texts and she has helped me to understand part of the mystery of it all. I will get there. I'm determined to keep going and conquer this new adventure! Pssshhhh! Addicted! He'll be thanking me one day. =o)

baby furniture? here ya go...

God never ceases to amaze me with His provision. When I look back over my life, inparticular the last year or so, I am baffled b/c it really could not be any clearer that God is providing. We would not have survived otherwise. Here's the most recent story...

We have had the right pieces of furniture in Daisy's room to make do. We have never gotten a changing table b/c we have a kitchen table that was given to us. I bought a cheapo changing pad and just slapped it on there and just put all the essential things that go along with it (lotions, ointments, powders, etc.) on the table, surrounding the changing pad. I will tell you, this works like a charm when you have a newborn. You know, a cute, adorable little babe who just lays there and looks at you with adoring wittle eyes. Not so much for an almost 11 month old who appears to have made it her mission in life to grab whatever her sticky little fingers can get a hold of and chuck it to kingdom come, usually nailing me in the head in the process. So I've been thinking I want to get some sort of table with drawers to put all those things in and save myself from getting an eye poked out. Also I've been wanting a nightstand to put by the rocking chair b/c I always need a place to put things when I'm sitting there and it always ends up on the floor, and then lost due to the before mentioned "sticky fingers". Keep in mind, I haven't really broached this subject with the hubster yet. There are more pressing matters at hand like needing a vacuum. So last night the hubster comes to me and says, "Oh, hey our landlord is working next door and wants you to go over there tomorrow and look at some baby furniture and see if you want it." Um, what? Needless to say I am a bit excited!! The furniture is perfect. A little dresser, a mirror, a shelf, and a nightstand. I can't wait to check out the "oops" paint at Home Depot or Lowes or wherever and get *my* little sticky fingers on them! A fun craft project AND a fulfilled need. I am so happy!

blog? what blog?

Wow, okay, so if I ever did have anyone to read this thing, I'm sure you are long gone by now! Whew! What a crazy seven months it has been. Since my last post I have:

Said good bye temporarily to my kitties
Moved to NY
Watched Daisy crawl for the first time
Moved to PA
Slipped back into the role of "renter" rather than "owner" (i'm liking it)
Helped pull off a surprise retirement party for my dad
Said hello again to my kitties

Daisy has come a long way as well. In addition to crawling she now has four teeth, pulls herself to standing just about anywhere, understands the signs for "kitty" and "daddy", sings, dances to music.....there's more I'm sure. It seems like she's doing something new every day.

So we are now in Pennsylvania. I feel, in a way, that I've come full circle. Even though my home where I grew up is 3 hours away from here, it very much feels like I have come home. We are loving it here. Cute town, nice people, (well, except for the psycho who came to our door yelling at Josh b/c he apparently parked in his shoveled out spot instead of the one Josh shoveled out one spot over, but, ya know, I guess you have those meatfaces anywhere). Yes, I said meatface.

To save this post from becoming dull and senseless, I'm going to sign off. My brain is quickly shutting down as it is of a late and wonderful hour. See, it's starting. I need to stop typing. Now.

ya do what ya gotta do

Trying to pack up a house with Daisy around is proving to be quite challenging! I find that when I put her in the carrier though, she's much happier..and I tend to get more done as well!

happy anniversary to me!

Oh, and to the hubs, as well! I can't believe it's been 5 years! 5 years since I said 'I do', and just about 7.5 years since I've had this guy in my life. I love you, Josh! Can't wait for our date! And in honor of this day I post this:

daisy's letter

Since Daisy was born I would lay down in bed exhausted and think to myself, "shoot, I forgot to write down stuff about Daisy". I always had really good intentions of keeping a diary, but never the recall to follow through on it. Then I realized for as much time as I spend on the computer, I could be writing this stuff down. Thus the idea for "a letter to my sweet girl" was born. I know, no one else has thought of doing that, right? Well, I never claimed to be the brightest bulb in the box. =) So anyway, I've been writing this letter for several days now, and just tonight I finally found the blogger template that is just so perfect. I don't know why, it just fits and seems to capture the feeling I want for the blog. It's simple, clean, natural. I just love it. You can see it here. Then feel free to comment on this post about how much you love it. ;)

tight fit

My baby is growing!! Things are getting a little tight in the bassinet. I seriously did not think it would be this hard for me to move her to her crib. (Mind you, her crib is literally about 5-6 steps from my bed, right in the very next room, right against my own bedroom wall.) Gee whiz, if I can't move her to her crib, what am I going to do when she needs to go to Kindergarten? Oh my soul.
